VMware Telco Cloud Automation – Part03

Role of TCA in NFV:

By applying cloud-first philosophy, combined with a standards-based and a Network Function vendor-neutral position, VMware TCA helps telecommunication service providers in a number of ways. TCA supports orchestrate and automate network functions and services with multi-cloud agility from the core to the edge, and from private to public cloud. TCA can unify the management of network functions of any vendor on VM-based and Container-based infrastructures. TCA is ETSI standard-compliant. TCA can streamline the orchestration journey with native VIM integrations and a pluggable architecture following ETSI-MANO standards. TCA enables a thriving multi-vendor Telco cloud ecosystem with standard interfaces and the certification of partner’s network functions from the NFVI to the NFVO.

VMware Telco Cloud Automation is a centralized management platform that automates from the infrastructure up to the network service layer across any cloud and network. VMware Telco Cloud Automation is accessible by stakeholders such as developers, deployers, operators, vendors, and administrators who are responsible for the life cycle management of the telco cloud solution.
The core capabilities of VMware Telco Cloud Automation include: • Network function tool to design, onboard, and orchestrate network functions and services
• Generic VNF manager to unify and standardize network function management across VM and container-based infrastructures
• Network function virtualization orchestration (NFVO) to simplify the design and management of the network services

Intelligence about policy and placement of the network workloads in a multicloud environment
• Multicloud infrastructure management that interfaces with multicloud infrastructures, synchronizes inventory resources, and collects fault and performance data from infrastructure

Interoperability with ETSI-compliant components of the MANO framework such as OSS, BSS, EMS, and so on
